Maaavelous Meatballs

Gail says these meatballs are delicious, and her kids love them.

Meatballs

2 lbs ground chuck
1 medium grated potato
1 medium grated onion
1 large raw egg
2 pressed cloves of garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper

Sauce

1 bottle of chili sauce
1 bottle of water (use empty chili sauce bottle to measure)
1 small jar of grape jelly (naturally sweet, no refined sugar

Combine chili sauce, water, and jelly in a 6-quart pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer. Mix meat, onion, potato, raw egg, and spices together. (I found this easiest to mix with my hands). Roll about 60 bite-size meatballs. Gently drop meatballs in the simmering sauce. Cover and cook on low heat for 1 hour. Chill for a few hours to allow removal of any fat that has risen to the top. Reheat and serve hot (freezes well).
