Homework Help

The following sites were compiled by Pocket Parent webmaster Jo Hansen as an aid to families that have homework.

BRAIN CHALLENGES AND WORKSHEETS

* Fun Brain challenges your child's knowledge about a variety of topics based on their grade level, from grammar to math, by using games and "pop quizzes''. (It's kind of fun, or embarrassing, as the case may be, to see how you as a parent do on the multiple choice quizes, compared to how your kid does. My daughter did much better on the 5th/6th grade American History quiz, than I did. Hey, do you remember what colony Squanto assisted?) This site also has teacher resources:

* If you are a teacher, or you want to give your youngsters some extra school help at home, the Learning Page provides free, printable worksheets, books and songs about a variety of subjects for elementary grade students. The site also offers free clip art:

* Here's a great site for kids who like to do worksheets at home. This site has more than 6,000 free worksheets on subjects ranging from phonics, math and language arts to science/geography, social studies and reading. There are activities designed for kids ages 3-5, as well as worksheets for school-age children. The worksheets can be printed out, which is also handy for teachers and substitute teachers looking for extra activities! The site is at:
